My fanfic link is gone!!! It's been a while since I've posted here but my Voltron musings are still alive. :D

Anyway, I'll try to post my fanfic where I can. (Dunno where i can get free webspace nowadays.) Someday I'd finish that fanfic.

Princess Allura's Bedroom

Is not simply a bedroom, it's an appartment. Entering her "room" you are presented by her private sitting room, her own living room if you will. There is a door to her private dining, study and finally her bedroom. Her bedroom has her bathroom and dressing room which has her vanity. Inside her bedroom is a writing desk that has a console to Castle control, her own PC. In another corner is a punching bag where she can vent out some steam at the end of a grueling day.

This is not the royal appartment yet. The Arusian King and Queen have their own appartment further down the hall in the same wing.

The Castle of Lions
More than just the headquarters of Voltron and the royal residence, I imagine the Castle of Lions' functions further as the seat of government - it's buzzing with activity, not an empty shell of a castle with only a handful of staff and the Voltron force.

Granted it was like this at the start. I'd think after a year or two of the Voltron pilots' arrival, Arus has gotten its act together and has a semblance of normalcy. Young men would want to defend their planet by becoming a royal guard or join the army, the women want to be of use and serve in the castle to help feed and tend to their brave young men.

I would suppose that the Castle would be divided into levels or wings. Allura's apartment is in the east wing, the royal residence. The boy's quarters, guards, and army barracks are in the North nearest to the Castle Control, turrets and hangar bays. So yes, in cases of emergency, it would take a while for the guys to reach Allura's room. West is dedicated for offices and South for more general purpose & recreation.

Going through the levels, underground is where most of the background staff work are, the catacombs, electrical, machinery, etc. First couple of levels are the most public of places and gets more private as you go higher.

Guards are stationed in strategic places, there's always staff attending to something. So as our Voltron force walks the corridors they would have people saluting to them or curtsying to the Princess.

The Castle of Lions is alive, the heart of Arus, symbolic of the strength, courage and tenacity of a people longing for peace.

What if Lotor was more good looking than Keith?

Think about it. I'm not saying our brave commander is not handsome, I'm saying he is... but our evil prince is drop dead gorgeous. Here's where we compare & contrast the two:

Lotor knows he's good looking and uses it to his advantage. His vanity is one of his greatest flaws. He's got the looks, the power, the kingdom; as far as he's concerned, he's a pretty good catch. He has it on good authority that some of the kings he's visited and/or conquered had practically thrown their virgin daughters his way to seal their desire to join the Doom Kingdom or to ease off the choke hold a little bit. That's one of the reasons why he doesn't understand why beautiful Princess Allura isn't head over heels for him.

Keith, on the other hand, doesn't know he's that good looking. Not because he's smug about it, but basically because (1) nobody really told him, (2) he never really took notice of all the girls swooning over him, (3) he always thought girls were approaching him for academic help. Bottom line, our pretty boy is too dense.

As our fair Princess is concerned, Keith's other remarkable qualities far outshines his handsome looks and that's whats makes him more desireable than the most good looking prince in the universe.
